A total of 874 Junior Engineer vacancies have been notified, of which 793 posts are for the non-scheduled area and 81 posts are for the scheduled area of Rajasthan. The department- and post-wise vacancy break-up is given below.

RSSB Junior Engineer Eligibility Criteria & Qualification

RSSB JE Nationality Criteria

An applicant must be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or a person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India. Candidates in categories other than Indian citizens must produce an eligibility certificate issued by the concerned authority of the Government of India.

RSSB Junior Engineer Salary 2026

The Junior Engineer post carries a pay scale of Pay Matrix Level-10 as per the 7th Pay Commission adopted by the Rajasthan Government.

• Selected candidates will be appointed as probationary trainees for a 2-year probation period.

• During probation, a fixed monthly remuneration (as prescribed by the state government from time to time) will be paid, instead of the regular pay scale.

• No additional allowances such as House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, or Special Pay are payable during the probation period.

• On successful completion of probation (training, passing the required examination, and satisfactory conduct), the candidate becomes eligible for the regular pay scale and confirmation/permanency.

The application procedure for is not fully online. Candidates are advised to follow the detailed instructions given below.

1. Candidates must log in to the SSO Portal at http://sso.rajasthan.gov.in using their SSO ID.

2. Select the Recruitment Portal available under Citizen Apps (G2C).

3. Click on ‘Apply Now’ for the relevant post.

4. If One Time Registration (OTR) fee has not been paid, complete OTR first by selecting your category, disability status, and home state, and pay the prescribed registration fee.

5. After completing OTR, candidates can apply through SSO ID.

6. Upload a recent photograph (not older than 1 month), fill in all required details including visible body mark, and upload scanned signature and thumb impression.

7. Fill in educational qualifications and other required details carefully in the online application form.

8. Submit the application form online. Note the Application ID generated after final submission.

• Candidates should read the detailed advertisement carefully before filling the online application.

• Only one correction opportunity is allowed within 3 days after the application closing date, on payment of Rs. 300, and a further limited correction window of 7 days after the exam for specific fields; core details like name, father's name, date of birth, photograph, signature, and thumb impression can never be changed after submission.

• Candidates applying under a reserved category must clearly mention their category in the prescribed column; category cannot be changed after the correction window closes.

• Candidates already blocked/debarred from RSSB or other recruitment agencies cannot apply during their debarment period.

• Category-specific certificates (caste, EWS, disability, ex-serviceman, sportsperson, widow/divorcee) must be issued on or before the last date of application to be considered valid.

• Candidates already in government service must inform their employer in writing before applying and must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of document verification.

• Marriage registration is mandatory for appointment to government service as per the relevant Rajasthan Government circular.
